I really love Lynn Nottage's writing and have been meaning to catch up on more of her work. I loved Esther the whole way through and wanted so badly for everything to work out for her. She is so genuine, kind, giving. I think this play says so much about how people treat each other, how the most kind people are often taken advantage of. And as always in her work it shows the inequality of the world and how all of these things get in the way of everyone truly living the life that we want or could be actually happy with.
