A Little Secret by Kelsie Rae

I’m trying to figure out how to put how I’m feeling into words, so bear with me. I feel like so much of this book was spent setting up books to come and not enough on the couple the book is about. Don’t get me wrong I love the world and I love all the friends and couples, I just feel a little robbed. Now let’s talk about the couple this story follows. Griffin and Finley are something else. Griffin is Finley’s brother’s best friend and they’ve known each other practically their whole lives. It’s a very typical “brother’s best friend” story but there is a twist thrown in there. The miscommunication was absolutely ridiculous. Both characters couldn’t say what’s on their mind in that moment and honestly it made them look super immature and dumb. I liked the storyline but it just got so damn repetitive. I’m not huge on one of the tropes in this book but the author was able to make it important without making the whole story be just about that if that makes sense. It’s mentioned often because it’s huge but there is more to the story than just that. It’s very intense and if you have triggers be sure to search those up before reading this one. I felt Griffin and Finley’s chemistry and connection but at times it felt very childish and not a serious relationship. I respected Griffin so much and thought he was a great guy but in a way I didn’t think Finley was a good fit for him 🙈 I feel very torn with this one. I know the next book is teased at the end of this one ‘A Little Broken’ and obviously I’ll be reading it.
