Castle Rackrent by Maria Edgeworth

3.0

It would take an Irish person to portray the ruination of the Rackrent estate with quite so much humour and simultaneous sense of pity, wouldn't it? I really liked the use of the unreliable narrator in Thady - and I believe Edgeworth pioneered the device. Early stuff, and some of the satiric edge is probably lost on me, but enjoyable and interesting.
