Fear the Worst by Linwood Barclay

5.0

This is the third book I've read by this author and I think he is getting better and better.

This is a domestic thriller featuring an average Joe type of single father just trying to get by as a car salesperson while raising his teen daughter. One morning lhe drops her off near the hotel where she is working for the summer and finds she doesn't come home at the end of the day and has seemingly disappeared off the face of the earth. After that it's a race against time to find his daughter before the bad people do and during the chase discovers a cesspool of corruption and dastardly goings-on in his town.

While there is a bit of violence and mayhem, these books are a nice change from the bloody serial killer books that are in abundance.
