I enjoyed this so much more than the Way of Kings, which surprised me because typically the second book in a series often not as good. Personally, I feel this book (despite how long it is) flowed a lot better, the world building grew and the plot developed so much more and all of the characters all felt more pivotal to the overall plot.
This book was definitely Shallan’s book and I loved Shallan’s adventures and getting to see her character develop and learn more of her past. While also getting to see Kaladin’s struggles with his decisions and Adolin really come into his own and his dynamics with other characters was so entertaining.
I also appreciated that while there were plenty of high stakes moments throughout, there was also plenty of quieter moments, like Shallan and Adolin’s date, that were just as compelling to read and I’m really looking forward to reading the rest of the Stormlight Archive.
