Why only 3 stars? Because I felt more invested in the background story and supporting characters than in the two MCs relationship. Which relationship was lukewarm at best. They antagonized each other for the first half of the book, even though the reasons felt weak. Afterwards they (almost) reluctantly gave in to their mutual attraction, were together twice (sexually), and fell in love. I didn’t feel it.
Moreover, I would have appreciated an epilogue or at least some explanation as to side characters’ story (Fitz nephew for example or Antoine’s brother). I think I will keep reading the series just to know what happens to side characters and to revisit Cherry Creek.
