Almost Mortal by Christopher Leibig

3.0

The prologue of this book sets up the story well – it is eerie and mysterious, and I was desperate to read on! I flew through the story as it is incredibly fast-paced. You can feel the pressure and the buzz of a defence attorney’s job and I loved the procedural aspects of the book. Sam as a character is a study in contrasts, he often lies and gambles, yet he clearly has empathy and wants to help people. It is difficult to know which characters to trust and who is trying to control the narrative. I also loved the addition of Sam’s psychic abilities! They are subtly done and feel like a natural addition to the story. Thank you to @sabrina_dax_pr and @chrisleibig for my copy in exchange for an honest review!
