The Bachelor Auction by Rachel Van Dyken

Contemporary Cinderella retelling. Not really for me - the hero was too much of an entitled asshole, but the heroine could tell that it was just his (emotional) pain talking and didn't take it personally - no thanks! Add in the fact that the hero keeps noting how the heroine reminds him of his mom (uh...) and that, while both hero and heroine are introduced with two terrible siblings, the hero's are quickly redeemed as lovable scamps/comic relief while the heroine's stay awful throughout, and it's a wonder I finished it. Not terrible - the comic relief brothers were occasionally pretty darn entertaining - but the weird gender politics made it clear that this was not really my kind of book.
