This book had SOOO much potential but fell a little short for me which is why I am giving it a solid 3 stars. I still very much enjoyed it. A few things I found challenging were- I had a hard time keeping up with what was happening. I would read a page and get to the next one and found myself wondering if I missed a paragraph or two. The story jumped around a lot. While the characters were wonderful, I felt like there were large gaps in their development. We got a high-level view of what was happening which led me to be surprised by some of the situations and circumstances that happened. At the same time, I did love the characters. How cool to be reading about what they were all experiencing in our time that was so different from when they were alive.

Our FMC has just been given top secret clearance for a project the Ministry is focusing on. She is going to be a part of the Ministry of Time and is now called a bridge. She is going to be the link between someone who has been pulled from the brink of death and the past to now be here. It is none other then Captain Graham Gore who our FMC already knows everything about. She is now responsible for his acclimation into our society. There are some other wonderful side characters from different eras that contribute to the hilarity that is someone seeing a car or a phone for the first time and how about electricity. The banter was fresh and witty here. The longer that our 2 MCs are living together the more things seem to change between them. Now there is some simmering chemistry between them. They act on said chemistry which was a wonderful scene to read considering Mr. Gore had had limited encounters in his time. They find that they are really falling for each other when the rug is pulled out from underneath them. There is a mole in the ministry who is killing all of the time travelers and Captain Gore is one of the targets. Will our FMC make the right decision in the end? Will she end up betraying Gore unintentionally? Will he believe her? I liked how this one didn't end with a perfect bow. Her receiving the letter from Gore was PERFECT!

I do look forward to more from this author as the concept here was brilliant just not executed the best way in my mind!
