Los Nefilim by T. Frohock

This is a historical urban fantasy which is traditionally my cup of tea. However, this one was just not brewed to the correct temperature as I could not connect to the characters. It never felt like the stakes were high or that anyone was ever in any real danger. It was just very hard to motivate me to keep reading. Raphael is a gorgeous, precious child character, though, and if all children were as well-behaved and as intelligent and perceptive as him, I would actually like children.

I will try and write more of a review when I actually have a keyboard.
