Thistlefoot by GennaRose Nethercott

Another new top book of the year. I adored the exploration of the sibling relationships, Jewish traditional stories, and found family. I honestly loved how long this story was, it genuinely felt so magical. It was a perfect book for fall vibes. I loved Isaac and Bellatine, I thought they were perfectly flawed yet incredibly lovable characters and I loved watching their sibling-ship ebb and flow throughout the story. Thistlefoot (our magical house character) was SO COOL. Some of the chapters were from its perspective, which was one of the coolest aspects of the book. The idea that a story will never die as long as its told is one of my favorite tropes. I think my favorite part though was the writing. It was so beautiful and lyrical and perfectly paced. I will recommend this one forever.
