The Maze Runner by James Dashner

Did not finish book.
I couldn't even stick around long enough
see the girl wake up
. Really, you'd think that a book this hyped up would get at least a little bit interesting by the halfway point, but nooooooo, not this one. When I finally gave up on this last night, all I had to show for suffering through Thomas's whiny narrative was a huge stack of questions I'd collected since the first page and NOT ONE OF THEM HAD BEEN ANSWERED.

I tried to let my fondness for the movie cast fuel me, I really did. But I when I reached the point where
Thomas was stuck in the maze, surrounded grievers
and I was unable to feel anything besides profoundly bored, I knew that it was hopeless.

It's hard to enjoy a book when you simply can't tolerate the MC's bullshit. Literally all holier-than-thou, special little snowflake Thomas did was complain and whine and mope and gripe. GOD. I do think that maybe this would be better as a movie because a) None of Thomas's inner monologue. Yay. and b)I think the concept of the maze would translate well onto film. Idk though. This book just didn't do it for me.

I might pick it up again when I'm feeling more tolerant, but for now it's adios.
