Flock by Kate Stewart

Re-read June 22: looking for an audio book to put on that I’d listened to before, that wouldn’t take me away from my current read, I decided to dive back into Flock because it’s a series I recommend to friends a lot.

Listening to this for a second time, having finished the series previously, I felt so much more connected to the first book (I even teared up at a few moments just from remembering what’s to come - yes I’m that pathetic). And that ending, where you’re cleverly distracted by with Cecelia’s thoughts and feelings on what was just revealed, before a plot twist is thrown at you in the last few sentences. So GOOD!

I upped my rating to 5 stars, as it’s very much deserved.

First read March 22: I’m not usually an audiobook fan (I much prefer my own interpretation of dialogue and find it difficult to adapt to narrators voices) but after reading a few reviews about how good this was, I decided to give it a go. And I was not disappointed!

Despite the time it took to get over myself and listen to pretty damn spicy scenes apposed to reading them (there were quite a few jaw dropping moments where I resembled the colour of a tomato - definitely could not listen in public!), I ended up really enjoying this!

I found the depth of the characters intriguing and their development was definitely what kept me listening. I had no idea where the plot was going either (thanks to avoiding the blurb and went solely on recommendation), ending up pleasantly surprised - and very much looking forward to the next one.
