What a wonderfully bold and emotional book about learning what it means to be alive. Emezi’s exploration of grief, healing and love was beautifully and powerfully written, with characters that felt real and flawed.
I did feel at times it was too modern. I have an aversion to stories that bring up Instagram, video calls and the like, but ultimately those choices didn’t take away from the overall themes of this book.
I am excited to check out more of Emezi’s work.
