This is a retelling of The Count of Monte Cristo. There is betrayal, imprisonment, and revenge. Above all else this book is nothing but feminine rage. This story has a little bit of a dual timeline though it is mostly told in the present. It is very much slow burn but the ending is definitely worth the dedicated time.
