This was a solid conclusion to the series for me over all! I enjoyed the writing of this series, the relationship between Crier and Ayla, and the themes it grapples with. This book completes both of their arcs well and all of the scenes between them were really delightful! There were some really good romantic moments and I was really rooting for them. I also liked the way Crier forms more relationships with humans, both because the differences between the Automa and the humans continue to be very interesting, and because I thought it was a really great character choice for Crier to care about and fight for all humans, not just Ayla. I felt like Ayla’s arc was a little bit less developed just in terms of her reconnecting with her long-lost twin, but it was still satisfying over all! Like the first one, I think I would’ve loved this even more if I read it when I was a little younger, as I’ve been moving away from YA for the past few years, but I still wanted to see this series out. And I’m very glad I did! This is a really solid YA series on the whole with a super interesting premise, a well-built romance, and good prose!
