The main character Rain is a FBI agent sent to help solve a cold case. From the blurb I expected a seasoned veteran doing professional criminal profiling work to solve a case, but his internal monologues are just 80% horny thoughts and detailed descriptions of how he used to fuck his ex, 10% how hot Miami is, 10% detective work. The only people doing real work in the book is

the ghost Ethan, and Chevrolet (who is basically Abby from NCIS)

There's no tension at all for a second chance romance,

they're quite lovey-dovey at their reunion and had sex at the most unfathomable timings, I've never been so baffled at smut scenes before. Is the mood right now supposed to end up like this? They talk about not trusting each other then get mad when they try to talk about it?? Then proceeds to have sex and be lovey-dovey again afterwards??? They did sorta agree to see each other's points and accept them eventually but it was quite out of nowhere.

I'm so unconvinced when they officially got back together. 

The writing isn't really great and doesn't feel edited properly. Except for the ghosts, all the other characters are just written to be very unlikable.
