Sorcerer to the Crown by Zen Cho

4.0

Described as an "enchanting [pun!] cross between Georgette Heyer and Susanna Clarke," this story is certainly that. It's giddy in plot, rich in character, and serious in themes. Very smooth read, and also feels like one of those bridging novels, which might take the genre into new directions. I hope so.
