Based on a True Story by Norm Macdonald
4.0

Its realtionship to reality (or lack thereof) is the least interesting aspect of this novel--and it is a novel, per Macdonald's own admission--instead, it's a hilarious and genuinely incisive consideration of the gambling mindset/world, with some clever commentary on celebrity thrown in. Super well-written and structured, too; it's a shame we didn't get any more books from Macdonald because he had the chops. Crazy to think that he could've been an even more accomplished novelist than comedian.
