Playlist for the Dead

For most of this book, I was wondering if the main character was dense or just downright stupid. Like we get it, you're grieving and it's alright. But seriously... I don't know if the author equals young with dumb but he couldn't he even piece some small clues together. Why write a novel if your main character can't even solve the basic mystery.
It was clear from the beginning that something had happened to trigger Hayden. The link between Astrid/Alison and Athena was obvious. Those avenues took so long to be explored that I lost most interest in the book.
And everything ends well and the bullies never bully again? Please, that's either wishful thinking or a bad attempt at making a fairy tale ending.
