Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

5.0

A while back I watched the show Shadow and Bone, I really liked it but had no idea that it was an adaptation from a popular book series. I absolutely loved the show so tried reading six of crows, (I was a bit sceptic about reading the shadow and bone trilogy because the plot of Six of Crows interested me way more.) And I am so happy I did. The book is amazing! Great characters that make you really infested and a great plot line.

Kaz and Inej were so frustratingly fun to read about, you want them to get together and talk about their trauma but it wasn't annoyingly done. It was just enough misunderstanding that it got annoying and boring. And that one chapter where he said he wanted Inej and Inej told him she'd only take him without his armour. oh lord.

Nina and Matthias were so much more fun in the book than in the show because of Matthias not being imprisoned. I liked how Matthias didn't immediately like Nina again after coming out of prison but only accepts her when she explains why and shows how dedicated she is when she took the drug at the end of the book. She truly loves Matthias and I am so excited to read Crooked Kingdom to see how they evolve as a thing maybe

Wylan and Jesper my boys. They were so cute in the show and I really liked them in the book too! Even though their storyline isn't as romantic as in the series, they were so fun to read about. How Jesper first kind of hates him and how he slowly learns more about him and accepts him in the 'family' absolutely heart warming! I love Wylan's character so so much he is so unapologetically himself and he is so sweet. I felt really bad when his father exposed him to everyone and that he heard everything. Even though that was the plan it still hurt.

The plot was intriguing and genuinely kept me on my toes. The heist was great and with actual high stakes and I cannot wait to read Crooked Kingdom!
