Okay, let me just start by sayingāI did NOT see that plot twist coming! š±
Spoiler Alert ahead, yāall. Youāve been warned. š
From the jump, I knew something was off with the new neighbors. The vibes were weird, the missing child situation was shady, and I just knew someone in that house was guilty⦠but I couldnāt quite figure out who. My original suspect? The wife. But oh noāFreida said plot twist incoming!
Then I was side-eyeing Enzo (Millieās husband) for those late-night convos. I really thought he was having an affair with the neighborās wife. Wrong again! It was the maidāand not just any maid. This woman had a deep, dark connection to the past, linking all the way back to Millieās trauma and that infamous āun-alivingā incident. Talk about full circle from book one!
And letās not forget the jaw-dropping reveals involving Millieās kids. Likeāwhat?! This book had so many twists, turns, and wild reveals that I felt like I needed a moment to catch my breath after every chapter. Freida McFadden really knows how to play with your mind.
If this is the final book in the series (I think it is?), it went out with a bang. But if thereās another one coming? Iām all in. š§š
Graphic: Death, Murder
Minor: Child abuse, Child death
Spoiler⦠full circle moment!
