The Girl without Skin
by Mads Peder Nordbo
I picked up the sequel of this book at a small indie bookstore in Minneapolis. When I added it on Goodreads and saw it was part of a series, I figured it was non sequential, just featuring the same main character. Turns out the second book spoils the first in the first two pages. Whoops! Thankfully, I was confused so I wound up still being surprised.
Wow, did I enjoy this book. It was well written and compelling. Greenland and Greenlandic culture is portrayed so wonderfully and horrifyingly. The twists kept coming and the characters were deep and beautiful. I have definitely found a new favorite author in Nordbo and I look forward to exploring more of what he has to offer.
