This is a very-immersive, gross, spooky body-horror!

The "disgusting" language really really makes this shine. I love this kind of horror -- violent, sure, and bloody sometimes, but mostly, just gross. I like body horror stuff and this is super skin-crawly in a great way. The "squelching" types of verbs really evoke sound and touch and smell and it's fantastic for the tone. Really good gross creepy stuff that's exactly as unnerving as I wanted it to be.

I think this could be a 4.75 out of 5 stars just because there's a LOT of plot threads and characters, and once in a while I had to re-orient myself and kind of remind myself what was going on. But that's a bit nitpicky -- the plot points are indeed set up and even the twists don't feel like they came out of nowhere, but nothing was overly predictable either.

In general, this is a well-paced, tense horror! Good stuff!
