I enjoyed this book so much more than I thought I would! I was hesitant to start but once I did, I was hooked! The style of writing was eloquent and there was a lot of humour as well. Lots of character development and detailed world-building and lore. There are time jumps throughout the story but it was easy to follow. There are plot twists and emotions galore. Adored the beautiful illustrations scattered throughout the book - really adds depth to the story. Overall an absolutely fantastic read and I can’t wait for the sequel Empire of the Damned!
