this was so lovely! I’m a sucker for a dual timeline so going back and forth in time with Molly to uncover the details of Mr. Grimthorpe and the murder was fun! I thought the author did a great job filling in the gaps of Molly’s back story and allowing the reader to grow a deeper connection with her Gran. This mystery had more layers and was therefore more engaging than the first book. I loved the ending of everyone coming together and the possibility of Molly becoming a detective. If there’s a third book I hope it would follow this plot line! Not surprised by Mr. Preston as it felt obvious in the first book but glad it was confirmed for our dearest Molly. I was confused around what seemed to be a major plot hole - Serena sharing in the end that the lawyers were transferring the rights…what? Like did she not say a handful of pages before that due to the agreement that wouldn’t be possible? It just felt like a complete disregard to a previous element of the story just to smooth everything over in the end and I didn’t appreciate it. Overall though another solid story around Molly the maid!
