The Best Girl by Emma Harrison

3.0

This book was cute and an easy read. It fell victim to a lot of annoying tropes. The plain Jane being one, which is even better because she chooses to go by the name Jane. She always complains about how ugly she is, but obviously she's actually super incredibly beautiful and everyone knows it but her. Instalove, sort of. Spoiler alert, at the end of the book they're declaring their love for each other, and I thought, "Okay, calm down, you've been going out for a week."

I also wasn't a huge fan of Connor, to be honest. He was judgemental and a little rude and yeah, a little mean, too. I wasn't entirely sure what Jane saw in him.

Still, the book was cute. Though I was more into the storylines with Jane and her brother Jonah as well as her relationship with her mom. The romance was sort of secondary to me, which is strange. Overall, definitely not the best of these cute romance books, but not the worst either.
