I really loved learning more about Waylon’s and Harlow’s past. I did not expect it to be as heavy as it was, but Brooke did a great job addressing such sensitive themes. While I love a good age gap romance and spice lessons, I had a hard time with Harlow and how naive she was. It was almost as if she were a young teenager instead of a twenty year old. I completely get being inexperienced, but it was if she knew absolutely nothing (even though she has an older sister and an experienced best friend). The pacing also threw me off a little bit because some parts felt too rushed, especially the ending. 

While this wasn’t my favorite of the series, I enjoyed the background it provided, especially with the twins. It has me looking forward to Wilder’s story and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for him.
