My opinion:
Elodie never stood for herself against her mother which I hated, bc she never cared for her daughters and only Christian called her out, actually the mom felt way too plain and tropey.

Also characters and everything in general felt a little overlooked, not enough depth to any of them, and since the wedding and everything was not even shown, the romance ended falling a little flat.

And would have loved to see more of Christian and to know more about his life or how he is with friends or whatever he does for a living.

Elodie was the "good" one, obedient, who does not see her worth which I usually like but there was also no character development. She never stood for herself only when running away from Christian for the 3rd act breakup and that was plain exasperating. Talk to him first not just run come on.

So I liked that the FMC was not "bratty" and was more to the sweet and insecure side but we didn't get to know anyone enough to really love them.

Also because of Elodies teaching and the whole periods view of woman, the book felt a little purist.
Everytime they so much as kissed she was already thinking she was too brazen or lightskirt, like just enjoy it dammit.

I would have understood her thinking that, bc she has always believed and do what told but since the book was fade to black, it just felt like it was supporting a little that kind of thinking, would have been better if they showed Elodie enjoying sex but well it is the authors decision to not add that to the book.

Since the other sisters are more outspoken and flirty maybe their books won't feel as purist.
