This book mad me giddy and gave me all the romantic feels. The banter between the mains is perfect. However I felt like the miscommunication when they first met was too silly to have caused such an intense dislike.
I also did not get how no one would believe Olive about Dane; he’s very open about his random, sleazy remarks so it feels very mean and weird to just chalk it up to Olive wanting to see the worst in people. What reason did she have to lie about him hitting on her? Besides this I did feel like the communication in the third act was done very maturely and I liked how the breakup wasn’t about a miscommunication. Even though I still hated the reason they broke up.
All in all, this is a nice summer book that I would recommend as a palate cleanser.
PS: this book is from 2019 and does have HP references which were unnecessary and sad to read.
