I really wish reviews would mention that.
I was excited to read this book but after finishing it I feel like it’s been massively overhyped.
I liked the bits of the report sprinkled into the story; I always like when documents and those sorts of things are put into fiction.
Even for a YA mystery, it’s very implausible. Tailing and interviewing a drug dealer would get you killed, not closer to your goals. You also wouldn’t eliminate suspects so early in your investigation just based on a hunch.
At least in other YA mysteries/thrillers the MCs have adult resources to fall back on and consult, which is realistic.
The main character Pippa was very flat and had little interest in anything except the case. Oh, except judging everyone she could while acting like a good girl.
