The Twin follows identical twins Ivy and Iris. They have been separated since the age of ten (10) when their parents got divorced and took custody of one child each. Irish stayed with her mom while Ivy stayed with her Dad. Following the death of their mom, Iris must now move in with Ivy and her Dad. Iris is slowly taking hold of Ivy's old life and no one notices but her. Something is wrong with Ivy. Would she win in the end?
This is my second read of Natasha Preston for the year and I enjoyed this one more than the other, The Lost. The narrative is told through Ivy's perspective and at times, she annoys me so much! However, other times it makes me want to pull out all my hair and scream at the top of my lungs in the best way possible. It makes me feel like I too am going mad! I liked it!
Natasha Preston as I am currently learning does not end her books in the typical sense of closure but rather twists the story even more. While I don't think I enjoy this trope generally, it works for her books. I do wish though that I can get a sequel to check up on my faves and see what happens to them!
Natasha's writing is also very simple thus I think, this book would more appeal to the younger audience rather than the older audience.
I know these books can be either a hit or a miss. There's no in between. I enjoyed these psychological thrillers although at times, the plot is predictive, you only want to keep reading on!
