iamruby21 's review for:
King's Bride
by Beck Michaels
I am grateful to the author for providing me with the opportunity to read the eARC.
The review is spolier free
King's Bride was the dark fantasy retelling of Beauty and the Beast, set in a deliciously seductive and the world full of dangerous and dark secrets. The narrative follows the characters as they heal from past wounds and learn to accept themselves despite others' judgments.
The story was soo good I want to cry. If you ask me what I loved most about the book, it would be the vivid descriptions of world building which was mesmerizing and captivating. The relationship between Jökull and Sunnëva was slow burn filled with angst and intense and the spice was scorching hot!
I was beyond excited when the author announced the prequel books for the legends mentioned in GOTM. I was super excited to read about Jökull and Sunnëva because who doesn't love strong, reckless, stabby FMC and demanding, brooding yet has heart of gold MMC who would burn the world for her? Yes, please!
I loved the way how the story was woven with secrets, mystery, prophecies and unfathomable truths. Plus all the swoon worthy moments and the confessions! I loved all the side characters who adored and supported Sunnëva. My favourites are Aero and Tally!
I enjoyed and savoured from the first page till the end page. The last 20% was intense and left my jaw on the floor. My head span from all the twists and turns. And yes, I cried. There are some easter eggs which I highlighted for upcoming GOTM books.
I'm excited to read the next book in the Chronicles of Urn because it would be about the God of Shadows...
If you guys love beauty and the beast, slow burn, stab first question later FMC and Ice Phoenix King MMC, pick this book up!
