The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

5.0

'When he smiled the skin at the corners of his eyes crinkled, like a leaf held to a flame. He was like a flame himself. He glittered, drew eyes.'
.
I am broken. This book was truly beautiful. I didn't know much of Patrolus and Achilles story before this book and had no idea what I was letting myself in for. Miller writes such beautiful words, so effortlessly poetic. I found myself deeply lost within their relationship, I felt apart of it. I am not ashamed to say that I spent the last few chapters erratically crying.
.
I loved Circe but I loved this story even more. Madeline Miller has become an instant purchase author for me, and I hope she does more retellings in the future. If you haven't read this book already, I beg you to read it.
