This was such a unique concept! Solving your own murder when you only have a seven days left to live. I have personally read something like that. This was so faced paced and bingeable. Jet was, I think more different than other Holly Jackson's characters but still had some similarities like being a strong heroine despite the circumstances.
(I'm not gonna lie, I was thinking about that "nothing beats a jet2holiday" sound on tiktok when I was reading her name at times lol. )
This book is simply following Jet, who was brutally attacked on halloween night and gets told she has seven days until she dies and she uses those seven to try to find out who attacked her. And her best friend Billy who has always been secretly in love with her tags along to help. This was so action packed. I mean action packed until the last page. I wasn't bored at all. Holly Jackson did the thing where she makes almost every character seem suspicious and then throws you off balance with who the person actually is and it's someone you weren't even paying attention to. The ending was sad even though it was inevitable. Don't know why Holly Jackson hates happy endings and why her characters can never be together lol.
The only negative thing I can say was that this book was supposed to be the authors first adult novel but it read very YA. Jet is 27 but she doesn't seem like that at all. If her age wasn't mentioned I would have thought she 19 at best or younger. A aggtm and all her other books have dark themes maybe darker so you can't use that as as justification. Just because you use all variations of the word "fuck" doesn't mean it's adult. But other than that I really liked this one and highly reccommend!
