Over Us, Over You by Whitney G.

3.0

“We were too young, but for the record, I’m pretty sure I damn near loved you, too.”

Corey and Hayley have been friends for years, but it was always a brothers best friend/brothers little sister relationship. We get their history between flashbacks and see how they ended up not talking anymore.

New Whitney G. books make me so freakin' happy! And I like the best friend's forbidden sister trope. Sadly, I didn't love this one as much as I hoped that I would.

I really couldn't get myself to really like Haley. She had everything handed to her by her brother. And I mean everything, house, car, job, etc. The girl had no work ethic or really even needed one. It just seemed really unrealistic and made it hard to connect with her character.

I thought that Corey was great. I liked him soo much better than Haley. It felt like he had way more to lose than Haley did with them being in a relationship. My only issue was that he didn't fight for her against Johnathan.

The ending seemed a little rushed, but overall the story was just okay. I didn't hate it but I sure didn't love it.
