The Dawn of the Lightning Goddess is an exciting start to the Sovereign Series. Arraetta’s life has been anything but easy. A foster child, due to the loss of her family, experiences visions and blackouts, and she takes one day at a time. That's when her roommate/foster sister, Genie, starts falling in love with her new man, earning them an invite to a ball. As soon as Arraetta meets the guest of honour, she knows they are fated to be together, but can Arraetta navigate his world with so many unknowns and recurring blackouts?
The Dawn of the Lightning Goddess is a strong start to the series that easily pulled me into Arraetta’s story as she navigates all the changes thrown her way and her budding relationship with Seraiah. After that cliffhanger, I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book. I am giving a rating of 4 / 5 stars.
