rennegade 's review for:
The Bunker Diary
by Kevin Brooks
4.5 rounded up. This was a really good psychological thriller. I was on the edge of my seat, as it were, throughout the whole book. Linus's backstory weaved in with the current situation was fascinating. The other characters were all interesting, too. I was anxious to see what would happen.
I found the ending satisfying, but... (pretty major end of the book spoilers ahead)
The book was written well and in a way that kept me interested the whole time. I plan on reading more by the author.

don't expect any resolution. At first I was frustrated that we never find out who did this, why he did it, and how the characters would escape and move on with their lives. If you've read it, you obviously know that none of this happens. After reflecting a bit, I realized this was the best ending for the book. It was terrifying and hopeless, but it was what this particular book needed. It was nihilistic and it totally worked. The book was written well and in a way that kept me interested the whole time.
