Leonard: My Fifty-Year Friendship with a Remarkable Man
by William Shatner
Not being a part of the relationship between Nimoy and Shatner, I don't feel as comfortable saying this feels like a Shatnerized apologia as some are saying. I think it is a wonderful look back at their friendship and the lives the two led. It's both biography and autobiography, and that makes sense because what is a friendship without *two* friends?
I feel like I learned a lot about Nimoy's early life and what was important to him. And there were a lot of tidbits and reflections on how each man lived his life onscreen and off. I truly believe that Shatner deeply loved Nimoy, and I'm grateful for his retelling of their lives together. This makes me want to go back and read and watch more of Nimoy's work. I'm still so sad that he's gone.
