Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

4.0

This book was great. While I didn't enjoy it as much as Shadow and Bone--I found the middle to be quite slow--the ending was AMAZING. I couldn't put the book down. I really loved the addition of the new characters in this one, specifically Nikolai, and I really hope that he pops up in the next one. I'm not sure if I'm alone in this, but I don't like Mal, and I need Alina to end up with the Darkling, although I genuinely have no idea whether or not that will happen. This book definitely needed more Darkling.

That being said, Leigh Bardugo is a fantastic writer. The whole Grisha world is so intricately woven and detailed, it's amazing. I loved all of Alina's internal conflict about the girl Mal wanted her to be and the girl she truly was, it was so interesting to read. I will say that I did find her action scenes to be a tad bit rushed, though.

I'm one of those people who are usually pretty good at predicting turnouts of books/movies/TV shows, but I genuinely have no idea what's going to happen in the final book and who she's gonna end up with. Can't wait to find out!!
