The Secret Dreamworld Of A Shopaholic
by Sophie Kinsella
I've already read this book once a few years ago and I remember that I liked it and after watching the movie Shopaholic recently I wanted to read the book because I remembered that I liked it.
Well, I have to say that I'm not a fan of chicklit. At all. It just isn't my cup of tea.
There are a few books that I consider as nice and delightful, but for me they are mostly all the same.
As I started reading this book I just thought of how stupid this girl can be. I mean, I myself am not good with money, but if I don't have any then I don't go and spend money that I don't have.
Also, Rebecca Bloomwood is a character that daydreams a lot and she thinks that those dreams will come true for her. Like she buys a lottery ticket and is already dreaming about how she will spend the money. And when she doesn't win, she's utterly disappointed. I mean, come on. You have to be a bit realistic.
But it was a nice read for summer. And I liked how at the end her character develops at least a bit, although she's then again falling into her old pattern. As if she's learned nothing.
I have the second book in the series standing in my bookshelf and I'm gonna read that as well, but I don't know if I'll continue the series after that one.
