Batman & Robin, Vol. 1: Batman Reborn by Grant Morrison

5.0

(I read this in single issue form but who cares). Picks up after Final Crisis and Battle for the Cowl. Dick Grayson (the former robin) as batman and Damien (Bruce Wayne's assassin-raised son) as Robin. Really interesting, although the villains are both weird and disturbing, although I suppose it's nice to have genuinely disturbed and scary villains other than the joker. I think the part of this story I like the most is the role reversal. Dick Grayson is not a really disturbed person like Batman is. He tends to joke a little more and seems to be more emotionally stable. Damien, however, is batman in 10-year-old assassin form, complete with mannerisms and attitude. I just enjoyed seeing Robin as the brooding, vengeful figure (who is more or less constantly threatening Grayson that he's more than happy to take over the role of batman by force if necessary), with Grayson playing the kind of confused normal guy trying to corral a child who doesn't recognize him as an authority figure. The first interesting series of batman stories in years.
