Does It Hurt? by H.D. Carlton

4.0

First of all your honor, I love him.

HD has a way of writing perfectly flawed and imperfect characters. Sawyer is just doing the best she can, while suffering through immense trauma. A victim and survivor of SA you definitely want to check your triggers before diving into this novel.

We start with Sawyer on the run wanted for a crime she only alludes to. Buying a one way ticket to Australia, a path that puts her on a crash course with Enzo.

Enzo is our shark loving marine biologist with a big heart but severe abandonment issues. After a one night stand he finds out Sawyer borrowed his identity..

A chance run in on the beach has him taking her on a little jaunt to the middle of the ocean where they get freaky with some shark play (Iykyk)

What he didn’t count on was a storm crashing into them and leaving them shipwrecked on a seemingly deserted island with an out of commission lighthouse.

Forced to endure each others company in order to survive the creepy ghosts and even creepier care taker.. Sawyer shows Enzo she’s got what it takes to survive and maybe a little more.

I really loved this entire story and hope she writes more spicy thrillers like this.
