Baer is an incredible conversationalist. 777 pages of war peppered with humorous, relative footnotes. While the world was very much dependent on battle to determine land lines, I wasn’t prepared for the lack of cultural defense or exposition. Will still read her other compositions as I appreciate her worldview.
