I cried when this ended.
Emezi wrote an essay that was published in BuzzFeed about their writing process and I cried. Coupled with personal news today, this hit me really hard and I'm still crying. I'll get to writing a real review one day.
This novel is challenging and beautiful. I aspire my own work to be such an masterful combination of spirituality, the metaphysical, and the self. This book is hard. You have to work for it and its worth the labor.
