This offers wonderful mythological expansions, though a lot of it is never mentioned on the show (old or revival). It reads more like an X-Files dossier than anything else. Mark Frost wrote it independently, so I don't really consider it canonical. That said, delving into the town's history and uncovering its implicit, occult elements proved enthralling and captivating.
