An amazing book that redefined the meanings of words and the stigma's that we have created as a society. I was a little uneasy at first reading this book in public because of it's title and all the stares I immediately felt my way. A few chapters into the book and I could care less where I read it and who saw it. In fact, I used it as an advantage to invoke curiosity in others to ask me what this eye opening book was about.

The author shares some very personal experiences that ultimately have shaped her views on American society in particular. Her tone is persuasive with doses of sarcasm, but she only points out the obvious as to what is going on in our world of unbalanced power between the sexes. She points out the issues we fail to see and/or possibly choose to ignore.

This is a book that will leave you feeling with an urge to DO something and make a difference. Author gives insights to many little steps you can take in your own personal life to not contribute to the corporate powers. An excellent list of references is provided in the afterword that benefit independently ran businesses that support womyn, as well as magazines, books, and news that isn't filtered through the few giant networks that run this country.

All in all, this book is written to raise awareness and protect womyn's rights, but it's a self full-filling book for anybody who's interested in protecting their own rights.
