I picked up Zero the Hero by Joan Holub at the last minute this week because another student posted that it was worth reading. It was a great story, and I enjoyed all of the humor that can be found in the speech bubbles. The plot captured and held my attention, and also taught quite a bit of things about the math concepts surrounding the number 0. This would be a great book to read at the beginning of the school year to open up a math unit, or when talking about multiplying or dividing with zeros later on in the year.
