Did not finish book. Stopped at 23%.

overdramatic. clunky metaphors. unlikeable characters but somehow the main character is still the most insufferable.

and theres a whole chapter of two 13 year old girls inserting a tampon and then one of the girls intentionally did not wash her hands. why? what does it add to the story? 

too bad. i loved the idea. i mean, body horror, sapphic romance, mermaids. whats not to like? but this book is just not it. cringefest.
