I read this because so many people have been talking about it online. I generally avoid star reviews and only actually type out reviews for ARCs but….if you’re going to bemoan people looking for content warnings in the beginning of your book and then have a character who is a victim of CSA fall in love with a guy who ignores all of his “no”s with things like “You’re saying no but you’re lying because your body likes this” and constantly doing things that was explicitly spelled out as a hard boundary…….Im going to make an exception.
This was poorly written, way too long without any plot justification, and while I know noncon is something people can be in to, it was handled so poorly and done in such a stomach churning way that I was cringing through the whole book. Everyone responds to trauma in their own ways and triggers can be unpredictable….but having your consent trampled constantly and having it filmed and distributed when it makes you extremely uncomfortable DOESNT bother you? But your dad mentioning anything religious does? Until the end when everyone has a weird “ACTUALLY Jesus is good” talk and now everything’s awesome? No thank you.
